達欣在前三節打完還以1分落後，決勝節在蘇翊傑、施顏宗帶領下持續和璞園拉鋸，讀秒階段周儀翔切入分球給布拉（Sim Bhullar）得手將比賽逼入延長，進入延長賽周儀翔再跳出來接管比賽，獨拿7分率達欣取勝。
總計周儀翔全場攻下24分7籃板5助攻，打出MVP強盛氣勢，「阿飛」施顏宗則是拿下平生涯最佳的22分，布拉則是有17分10籃板的表現。
蘇翊傑攻下10分6助攻，並在此役首節成功傳出SBL生涯第1千次助攻，成為史上第4位達成此成就的球員，至於前3位則是陳世念、吳永仁、陳志忠。
璞園以戴維斯（Quincy Davis）攻下34分12籃板最佳，替補上陣的簡浩則拿下平本季個人最佳的17分。
賽後達欣教練邱大宗稱讚「飛翔連線」是球隊致勝關鍵，也表示施顏宗必須更加勇敢出手，至於璞園教練麥班達則認為此役就好似季後賽一般，球隊在比賽中獲益良多。
在多次被外界猜測將參加經典賽後，紅雀隊內野手Matt Carpenter今天終於表態將代表美國隊出賽，另外同隊的頂級新秀Alex Reyes也表示將加入多明尼加國家隊，幫助球隊完成衛冕。
「我一直都想參加看看世界棒球經典賽，而紅雀隊准許了我去參賽。」Reyes接受訪問時如此表示。
而Carpenter的加入則會給美國隊的野手戰力帶來顯著的提升，他能守三個內野位置，甚至也能支援中外野，多功能的守位將會強化美國隊的陣容深度。而優異的打擊能力，將能很好的補上球隊所需要的開路先先鋒人選。
紅雀總管John Mozeliak表示，在不受傷的前提下，樂於看到選手們去參加經典賽，這對他們來說是一個很好的經驗。
